We supply and fit an underfloor heating system of a quality and standard that is second to none.

QUOTATION

Post or email (to Richard@u-u-h.com) a copy of your drawings and we will endeavour to send you a quotation on the day that we receive them.

GEOGRAPHIC RANGE

We will undertake most commercial or domestic underfloor heating projects, no matter how large or how small, anywhere in Great Britain.

EQUIPMENT

PIPE - is 16mm x 2mm multilayer PE-RT pipe with two layers of polyethylene pipe, a layer of aluminium pipe (which is the oxygen barrier) and two more layers of polyethylene pipe. This pipe is among the most effective types of pipe for underfloor heating and it has a heat output 30% greater than PEX pipe. To get the same heat output, PEX pipe of 20mm would have to be used. Due to the fact that the pipe is 2mm thick and has a aluminium layer, it transfers heat very quickly and consequently heats the room faster. The pipe has an operating pressure of 10 bar maximum and a working temperature up to 70 degrees C.

MANIFOLDS - the heavy brass manifolds are made it Italy and come pre-attached to mounting brackets and vibration absorbing clamps. They are nickel plated and fitted with two purpose control/balancing valves and are fully assembled, leak-tested and packed. The supply and return manifolds are each fitted with an isolation valve which includes a temperature gauge and a purge/vent assembly. The control valves are designed to take standard actuators.

CONTROL PACK - a pre-assembled manifold control pack which has been designed for quick assembly on to an underfloor heating manifold providing an integral thermostatic mixing valve and pump which gives excellent temperature control.

ELECTRONICS - as part of our normal supply we include the full electronics package required to run the underfloor heating system. For each manifold we supply a wiring centre, actuators for each loop and surface mounted thermostats for each room. While we supply the electronics package, we are not qualified electricians and our scope of installation ends at the manifold.

DESIGN - upon confirmation of order, we produce a computer generated design of the underfloor heating system for your project, which will be forwarded to your for approval. This will show the design layout of the pipes, the length of each individual pipe run on each manifold, air changes, heat loss, heat output and U values for windows, doors, external walls, internal walls and roof.

INSTALLATION - we have our own installation teams who travel anywhere in Great Britain to undertake project installations. At no additional cost, we will start early, finish late and work over weekends and public holidays if necessary to meet deadlines. We take health and Safety issues very seriously and have our own Health and Safety policies. We strictly follow all site procedures and our installers always carry a First Aid kit with them. We attend site smartly dressed, wearing company logo polo shirts, reflective tabards and hard hats.

We connect the underfloor heating pipes to the manifold, pressure test each one of them and leave the pipes under pressure with a pressure gauge attached to the manifold so that you can check during the screeding that no damage has been done to the pipe.

INSULATION - the first consideration is to distinguish insulation for underfloor heating, and insulation to comply with Building Regulations. Generally speaking, 50mm insulation is suitable for Ground Floor underfloor heating insulations and 25mm for all floors above. But architects often require insulation of 75mm or 100mm. We can clip pipe to the thicker insulation as long as it is above the slab.

On screeded floors in order to allow movement in the slab, it is necessary to install edge insulation that incorporates a polythene skirt and tear-off strip.
